American Idol 2011 Spoilers for March 9th

Idol tonight is pre-taped (like last week)… live performances should start next week.  Because the show is being well planned we have a pretty good idea of what will happen. 

As far as performances this is what you should see…

    * Paul McDonald – Come Pick Me Up (Ryan Adams)

    * Pia Toscano – All By Myself (Celine Dion)

    * James Durbin – Maybe I’m Amazed (Paul McCartney)

    * Haley Reinhart – Blue (LeAnn Rimes)

    * Jacob Lusk – I Believe I Can Fly (R. Kelly)

    * Thia Megia – Smile (Michael Jackson)

    * Stefano Langone – Lately (Stevie Wonder)

    * Karen Rodriguez – I Could Fall In Love (Selena)

    * Scotty McCreery – The River (Garth Brooks)

    * Naima Adedapo – Umbrella (Rihanna)

I’m looking forward to seeing Casey sing the Joe Cocker song and Scotty should do well on familiar ground with the Garth Brooks.  Pia, who was a stand out last week, should do well with “All By Myself” and Thia seems to have taken the judges Michael Jackson comments to heart.  Steven Tyler’s wild card, Naima, will be the last up with her rendition of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” – typically they save the best for last so here’s to hoping she proves herself worth the save.

Tonight on American Idol - The Guys

While things don’t always go as planned, this is kind of what you can expect to see on American Idol tonight.  The top twelve guys perform, this should be the order and the songs that they sing.

4. Tim Halperin: Streetcorner Symphony/Come on Over – Rob Thomas

5. Brett Loewenstern: Light My Fire – the Doors

6. James Durbin: You Got Another Thing Comin’ – Judas Priest

7. Robbie Rosen: In the Arms of An Angel – Sarah MacLachlan

8. Scotty McCreery: Letters From Home – John Michael Montgomery

9. Stefano Langone: Just The Way You Are – Bruno Mars

10. Paul McDonald: Maggie Mae – Rod Stewart

11. Jacob Lusk: House Is Not A Home – Luther Vandross

12. Casey Abrams: I Put A Spell On You – CCR

Reports are that the top performers are Brett Loewenstern, James Durbin and Casey Abrams.  The girls perform Wednesday and eliminations are on Thursday.
